Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2008 GMC Yukon XL, 2008 GMC Yukon, 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2008 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Install the discharge hose (1) to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the A/C recirculation switch.

  4. Install the discharge hose to the condenser using new sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  5. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  6. Install the discharge hose nut to the condenser.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  7. Install the upper air baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement (Cadillac) or Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement (Yukon) .

  9. Install the discharge hose (1) to the A/C compressor using new sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  10. Install the discharge hose mounting bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  11. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Non HP2)  or Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (HP2) .
  12. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A  . See Special Tools .
