Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  1. Install the steering column seal.

    Tighten:  Tighten the upper intermediate shaft to boot nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the steering column seal nuts.

    Tighten  Tighten the nuts to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  4. Connect the upper intermediate shaft to the lower intermediate shaft.
  5. Install the upper intermediate shaft to the lower intermediate shaft pinch bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the upper intermediate shaft pinch bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  7. Unlock the steering column by removing J 42640  from the steering column lower trim cover access hole.
