Removal Procedure

  1. Support the transmission with a transmission jack.
  2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  3. Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement in Propeller Shaft.
  4. Remove the transmission mount. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement (2WD) or Transmission Mount Replacement (4WD) .
  5. Remove the case extension bolts (3).
  6. Remove the case extension (1).
  7. Remove and discard the case extension O-ring seal (2).
