Installation Procedure

  1. Install a NEW O-ring seal (2) to the case extension.
  2. Install the case extension (1).
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the case extension bolts (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).

  4. Install the transmission mount. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement (2WD) or Transmission Mount Replacement (4WD) .
  5. Install the propeller shaft. Refer to Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement in Propeller Shaft.
  6. Remove the drain pan and the transmission jack.
  7. Fill the transmission to the proper level with DEXRON® III transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Checking .
