Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (Without Hydroboost)

Preliminary Procedures Place a suitable drain pan under the vehicle. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Remove the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
1	Power Steering Gear Inlet Hose Fitting NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . Tighten: 32 N.m (24 lb ft)
2	Power Steering Hose Assembly Bolt (at rack and pinion) Tighten: 12 N.m (106 lb in) Tip: Remove the power steering gear outlet hose from the power steering gear inlet hose.
3	Power Steering Gear Inlet Hose Assembly Tip: Note the routing of the power steering gear inlet hose to ensure proper installation. Keep the area around the power steering hoses and power steering gear openings clean. Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice . Use the J 44586 to replace the power steering gear oil seals if necessary. See Special Tools . Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
