Rear Brake Hose Replacement (2500 Series)

Rear Brake Hose Replacement (2500 Series)

Callout Component Name
CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Caution .
CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
1 Bolt, Brake Hose to Caliper Rear
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  40 N.m (30 lb ft)

2 Gasket, Brake Hose to Caliper (Qty: 2)
Tip:  DO NOT re-use the copper gaskets. Install NEW gaskets.
3 Fitting, Brake Pipe Rear

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)


Tip: 
  • Remove any dirt or debris fron the brake pipe fitting.
  • Use a backup wrench when removing or installing the brake pipe fitting.
  • Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
4 Bolt, Brake Hose Bracket to Rear Axle

Tighten:  12 N.m (106 lb in)

5 Hose, Brake Rear
Tip:
