Rear Brake Hose Replacement (1500 Series)

Rear Brake Hose Replacement (1500 Series)

Callout Component Name
CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Caution .
CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
1 Fitting, Brake Pipe Rear
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)


Tip: 
  • Remove any dirt or debris from the brake pipe fitting.
  • The mounting bracket for the brake hose is serviced as part of the brake hose assembly and is not serviced separately.
  • Use a backup wrench when removing or installing the brake pipe fitting.
  • Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss or contamination.
2 Bolt, Brake Hose to Axle Rear

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)


Tip:  Finger tighten mounting bolt before torquing to the specified value.
3 Bracket, Brake Hose to Axle Rear
4 Bolt, Brake Hose to Caliper Rear

Tighten:  40 N.m (30 lb ft)

5 Gaskets, Brake Hose to Caliper (Qty: 2)
Tip: 
  • Make sure the gaskets are not still attached to the brake hose or bolt, if not remove them.
  • DO NOT re-use the gaskets. Install NEW gaskets.
6 Hose, Brake Rear
