Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2007 GMC Yukon XL, 2007 GMC Yukon, 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

RAP Malfunction - Except Sunroof or SEO RAP Function

  1. Ignition ON, with the scan tool, check for and diagnose any current DTC.
  2. Perform system verification. Verify that the radio and DDM RAP mode is inoperative or always ON.
    • If for both components the RAP modes are inoperative or always ON, then replace the BCM. Refer to repair instructions.
    • If one of the components the RAP mode is inoperative or always ON, replace the component. Refer to repair instructions.

RAP Malfunction - Sunroof

  1. If the sunroof RAP mode is malfunctioning, enable RAP mode and test for RAP mode control circuit voltage (12 volts) at the sunroof module.
    • If voltage is present repair/replace the sunroof module.
  2. If voltage is not present, test for an open/high resistance in the RAP mode control circuit.
    • If a condition is found make the appropriate repair.
    • If the circuit tests normal, then replace the BCM.

RAP Malfunction - SEO RAP Relay

  1. Test for voltage at the SEO RAP relay. enable the RAP mode and test both the RAP mode control circuit and the battery supply circuit for voltage.
    • If voltage is present repair/replace the junction block- left I/P.
  2. If voltage is not present, test for an open/high resistance in the sunroof-RAP control circuit and/or the battery feed circuit. Verify that the EAP fuse in the underhood fuse block is not open.
    • If a condition is found make the appropriate repair.
    • If the RAP mode control circuit tests normal and battery voltage on the load side of the relay is present, replace the BCM.
