Conditions for Clearing the DTC

1 Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Place the mirror select switch in the neutral/fold position.
  4. Place the mirror direction switch in both the left/extend and right/retract positions.
Does DTC B1722 set as a current DTC?
Go to Step 3  Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

  1. Connect a test lamp to a good ground.
  2. Backprobe both of the mirror fold motor control circuits one at a time with the test lamp.
Does the test lamp illuminate at either test point?
Go to Step 6  Go to Step 4

  1. Connect a test lamp to battery voltage.
  2. Backprobe both of the mirror fold motor control circuits one at a time with the test lamp.
Does the test lamp illuminate at either test point?
Go to Step 6  Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the power mirror.
  2. Test for continuity through the mirror fold motor and the mirror fold motor control circuits.
Is there continuity?
Go to Step 7  Go to Step 6 
6 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the power mirror. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections .
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 10  Go to Step 8 
7 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the appropriate door switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections .
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 10  Go to Step 9 
8 Replace the appropriate power mirror. Refer to Mirror Replacement - Power .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 10  -
9 Replace the appropriate door switch. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 10  -

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC, as specified in the supporting text.
Does the DTC reset?
Go to Step 2  System OK
