Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the midgate hinge covers. Refer to Midgate Hinge Finish Cover Replacement .
  2. Fig 1: View Of Midgate Components

  3. Remove the lower center garnish molding (4). Refer to Endgate Center Molding Replacement .
  4. Disconnect the midgate harness electrical connector.

  6. Remove the nuts (1) securing the midgate hinge to the body.
  7. With the aid of an assistant, remove the midgate and place the midgate on a clean, protected surface.
  8. Remove the midgate inner panel. Refer to Midgate Inner Panel Replacement .

  10. Remove the nuts securing the midgate hinge to the structure.
  11. Remove the hinge assembly from the midgate structure.
