Installation Procedure

  1. Position the hinge assembly to the midgate structure.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  5. With the aid of an assistant, position the midgate hinge to the alignment pin (2) on the body.
  6. Install the nuts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  7. Raise and latch the midgate structure.
  8. Connect the electrical connector and secure the grommet.

  10. Install the lower center garnish molding (4). Refer to Endgate Center Molding Replacement .
  11. Install the hinge covers. Refer to Midgate Hinge Finish Cover Replacement .

  13. Install the midgate inner panel (1). Refer to Midgate Inner Panel Replacement .
