Endgate Trim Panel Replacement (SUT)

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Open the spare tire carrier.
  2. Open the endgate at a 45 degree angle.
  3. Release both cables from the body side strikers.
  4. Lift the endgate from the lower body side hinges.
  5. Place the endgate on a clean, dry, protected surface with the trim panel side down.
1 Endgate Trim Handle Bezel
Tip:  Pull at the upper and lower corners in order to release the bezel from the endgate.
2 Endgate Cap
Tip:  Endgate cap is secured with double-sided adhesive tape.
3 Endgate Latch Handle Bolt (Qty: 3)
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  12 N.m (106 lb in)

4 Endgate Latch Handle
Tip:  Release the endgate latch handle clips from the latch handle rods.
5 Endgate Latch Bolt (Qty: 2)

Tighten:  25 N.m (19 lb ft)

6 Endgate Latch Bolt (Qty: 2)
Tip:  The two lower latch bolts are shouldered for the endgate support cables.

Tighten:  25 N.m (19 lb ft)

7 Endgate Support Cable (Qty: 2)
8 Endgate Latch (Qty: 2)
Tip:  Disengage the latch rod clips from the endgate latch.
9 Endgate Trunnion Bolt (Qty: 4)

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)

10 Endgate Trunnion (Qty: 2)
11 Endgate Trim Panel
Tip:  The trim panel is secured by multiple pieces of double-sided adhesive tape to the endgate structure.
