Removal Procedure

  1. Open the spare tire carrier.
  2. Disconnect the rear license plate harness electrical connector at the right end cap support brace (2).

  3. Release the harness grommet from the rear step pad.

  4. Remove the latch side (1) spare tire carrier mount from the rear bumper. Refer to Spare Tire Carrier Replacement .

  5. Pull outward at the rear edge of the step pad (1) in order to release the pad cover from the bumper.
  6. Remove the license plate electrical harness from the pad cover.
  7. Remove the pad cover from the rear bumper.
