Removal Procedure

  1. Lower the midgate window.
    2. Fig 1: Midgate Inner Panel

  2. Remove the midgate inner panel. Refer to Midgate Inner Panel Replacement .
  3. Open the midgate. If the latches will not operate using the midgate latch release switch, then release the midgate latches manually. Refer to Opening the Midgate Without Electrical Power .

  4. Remove the midgate window. Refer to Midgate Window Replacement .
  5. Remove the midgate window run channel(s). Refer to Midgate Window Channel Replacement .

  6. Remove the screws retaining the latch assembly to the midgate structure.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the midgate latch.
  8. Remove the latch from the midgate structure.
