Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement (SUV) .
  2. Disconnect the lock actuator electrical connector.
    3. Fig 1: Liftgate Lock Actuator

    IMPORTANT: Note location of arm prior to removal.
  3. Remove the fastener (1) retaining the control arm to the actuator.
  4. Remove the fastener (2) retaining the actuator to control arm assembly plate,
  5. Slide the actuator upward, and remove the actuator from the plate.
