Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement

WARNING: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning . CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution . CAUTION: Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM. Preliminary Procedures Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Remove any dirt and debris from the area of the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly. Disconnect the electronic brake control module (EBCM) electrical connector.
1	BPMV Inlet Brake Pipe Fitting (Qty: 2) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Procedure: Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination. Tighten: With JL4: 32 N.m (24 lb ft) Without JL4: 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
2	Brake Pipe Fitting - Front Outlet (Qty: 2) Procedure: Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination. Tighten: 18 N.m (13 lb ft)
3	Brake Pipe Fitting - Rear Outlet (With JL4: Qty: 2, Without JL4: Qty: 1) Procedure: Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination. Tighten: 18 N.m (13 lb ft)
4	Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) Bracket Bolt (Qty: 3) Tighten: 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
5	BPMV Bolt Tighten: 11 N.m (97 lb in)
6	BPMV Bracket Procedure: Inspect the BPMV bracket grommet for damage and replace, if necessary.
7	BPMV Insulator (Qty: 2) Procedure: Inspect the BPMV insulators for damage and replace, if necessary.
8	BPMV Assembly Procedure If necessary, remove the EBCM from the BPMV. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement . After the installation is complete, bleed the antilock brake system. Refer to Antilock Brake System Automated Bleed . If a new EBCM is being installed, program the EBCM. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Programming and Setup . Calibrate the brake pressure sensor. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Programming and Setup .
