Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 GMC Sierra, 2010 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2010 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2010 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the EBCM.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1 V between the 12 V reference circuit terminal of the appropriate sensor listed below and ground:
- Left front sensor circuit terminal 28
- Right front sensor circuit terminal 17
- Left rear sensor circuit terminal 4
- Right rear sensor circuit terminal 3
- If greater than the specified value, test the 12 V reference circuit for a short to voltage.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit terminal of the appropriate sensor listed below and ground:
- Left front sensor circuit terminal 29
- Right front sensor circuit terminal 6
- Left rear sensor circuit terminal 5
- Right rear sensor circuit terminal 2
- If greater than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Ignition OFF, test for infinite resistance between the 12 V reference terminal of the appropriate sensor listed below and ground:
- Left front sensor circuit terminal 28
- Right front sensor circuit terminal 17
- Left rear sensor circuit terminal 4
- Right rear sensor circuit terminal 3
- If less than the specified value, test the 12 V reference circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for infinite resistance between the following signal circuit terminal of the appropriate sensor listed below and ground:
- Left front sensor circuit terminal 29
- Right front sensor circuit terminal 6
- Left rear sensor circuit terminal 5
- Right rear sensor circuit terminal 2
- If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate wheel speed sensor.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between the appropriate 12 V reference circuit terminals listed below:
- Left front sensor circuit terminals 28 at the EBCM harness connector, and terminal 2 at the wheel speed sensor harness connector
- Right front sensor circuit terminals 17 at the EBCM harness connector, and terminal 2 at the wheel speed sensor harness connector
- Left rear sensor circuit terminals 4 at the EBCM harness connector, and terminal A at the wheel speed sensor harness connector
- Right rear sensor circuit terminals 3 at the EBCM harness connector, and terminal A at the wheel speed sensor harness connector
- If greater than the specified value, test the 12 V reference circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between the appropriate signal circuit terminals listed below:
- Left front sensor circuit terminals 29 at the EBCM harness connector, and terminal 1 at the wheel speed sensor harness connector
- Right front sensor circuit terminals 6 at the EBCM harness connector, and terminal 1 at the wheel speed sensor harness connector
- Left rear sensor circuit terminals 5 at the EBCM harness connector, and terminal B at the wheel speed sensor harness connector
- Right rear sensor circuit terminals 2 at the EBCM harness connector, and terminal B at the wheel speed sensor harness connector
- If greater than the specified value, test the signal circuit for an open or high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the appropriate wheel speed sensor. If the DTC resets replace the EBCM.
