DTC C0267 Diagnostic Test

For Schematic Reference, see Brake Warning System in appropriate ANTI-LOCK BRAKES article.

1. Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Hydraulic Brake? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK - HYDRAULIC BRAKES .
2. Use a scan tool in order to clear the DTCs. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text. Does the DTC set? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to Diagnostic Aids .
3. Inspect the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir. Refer to MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR FILLING . Did you find and correct the condition? If yes, go to step  8. If no, go to next step.
4. Disconnect the brake fluid level switch harness connector. Use the scan tool to observe the Brake Fluid Level status. Does the scan tool display Low? If yes, go to step  6. If no, go to next step.
5. Replace the brake fluid level switch. Refer to MASTER CYLINDER FLUID LEVEL SENSOR . After repair is done, go to step  8.
6. Turn OFF the ignition. Disconnect the electronic brake control module (EBCM) harness connector. Test the brake warning indicator supply voltage 1 circuit for a short to ground. Did you find and correct the condition? If yes, go to step  8. If no, go to next step.
   NOTE: Following EBCM replacement, use the scan tool to perform the Tire Size/Wheel Base Calibration procedure.
7. Replace the EBCM. Refer to ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT . After repair is done, go to next step.
8. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text. Does the DTC reset? If yes, go to step  3. If no, system is okay.
