Paddle Shifter Circuit Troubleshooting: Inspection

Audio Remote-HFL Switch Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • Audio remote-HFL switch connector (16P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected) Audio remote-HFL switch connector (16P) male terminals

	Switch internal circuit inspection	OFF		There is less than 1 Ohms

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the audio remote-HFL switch.

ACC Combination Switch Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • ACC combination switch connector (16P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected) ACC combination switch connector (16P) male terminals

	Switch internal circuit inspection	OFF		There is less than 1 Ohms

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the ACC combination switch.

SUPP [PADDLE_UP], SDNP [PADDLE_DOWN], GND [GND(C/REEL-PADDLE_DOWN)] Circuit Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • TCM connector A (23P): disconnected
  • Paddle shifter connector (4P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected) TCM connector A (23P) female terminals	(Disconnected) Paddle shifter connector (4P) female terminals

	SUPP [PADDLE_UP] open wire inspection*1	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohms
	SDNP [PADDLE_DOWN] open wire inspection*2	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohms
	GND [GND(C/REEL-PADDLE_DOWN)] open wire inspection*2	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohms
	Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.
	SUPP [PADDLE_UP] shorted to ground inspection*1	OFF			Not shorted
	SDNP [PADDLE_DOWN] shorted to ground inspection*2	OFF			Not shorted

*1: Applies to the paddle shifter + (upshift switch) circuit

*2: Applies to the paddle shifter - (downshift switch) circuit

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

GND(AUDIO_CRUISE_or_PADDLE_UP), GND [GND(C/REEL-AUDIO)] Open Wire Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • Audio remote-HFL switch connector (16P): disconnected
  • Paddle shifter + (upshift switch) connector (4P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected) Audio remote-HFL switch connector (16P) female terminals	(Disconnected) Paddle shifter + (upshift switch) connector (4P) female terminals

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

GND(CRUISE-PADDLE_UP), GND(AUDIO_CRUISE_or_PADDLE_UP), GND [GND(C/REEL-AUDIO)] Open Wire Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • ACC combination switch connector (16P): disconnected
  • Audio remote-HFL switch connector (16P): disconnected
  • Paddle shifter + (upshift switch) connector (4P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

TCM Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining TCM is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the TCM.
