DTC (Rear Seat Heater Control Unit)
NOTE:
- If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A .
- The seat heater control unit does not turn on the seat heater until the seat core temperature is 85°ees or less. Make sure the seat core temperature is below 85°ees before troubleshooting.
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
-2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the ON mode.
-3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B1FAC Left rear heater current abnormal low (rear seat) Is DTC B1FAC indicated?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
- DTC check
-1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
-2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-3. Disconnect the following connector.
Left rear seat heater connector B (3P) -4. Connect terminals A and B with a jumper wire.
Terminal A Left rear seat heater connector B (3P) (male terminals) No. 3: Terminal B Body ground -5. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-6. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B1FAC Left rear heater current abnormal low (rear seat) Is DTC B1FAC indicated?
YES
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
NO
Go to step 3.
- Seat heater check 1
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Left rear seat heater connector B (3P): disconnectedTest point 1 Left rear seat heater connector B (3P) (female terminals) No. 1: Test point 2 Left rear seat heater connector B (3P) (female terminals) No. 3: Test point 1 Left rear seat heater connector B (3P) (female terminals) No. 1: Test point 2 Left rear seat heater connector B (3P) (female terminals) No. 2: Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
- Open wire check (HTR CUSH/BACK(RR) line)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Left rear seat heater connector A (4P) -2. Connect terminals A and B with a jumper wire.
Terminal A Left rear seat heater connector A (4P) (male terminals) No. 1: Terminal B Body ground -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Left rear seat heater connector A (4P): disconnected
Left rear seat heater connector B (3P): disconnectedTest point 1 Left rear seat heater connector B (3P) (male terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 5.
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
- Seat heater check 2
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Left rear seat heater connector A (4P): disconnected
Left rear seat heater connector B (3P): disconnectedTest point 1 Left rear seat heater connector A (4P) (female terminals) No. 1: Test point 2 Left rear seat heater connector A (4P) (female terminals) No. 4: Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 6.
NO
- Open wire check (GND lines)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Left rear seat heater connector A (4P): disconnected
Left rear seat heater connector B (3P): disconnectedTest point 1 Left rear seat heater connector A (4P) (male terminals) No. 4: Test point 2 Body ground Test point 1 Left rear seat heater connector B (3P) (male terminals) No. 1: Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the rear seat heater control unit .
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the ground wire or poor ground (G602).
