DTC (MICU)
NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A .
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
Clear DTCs
-2. Turn the headlight switch ON.
-3. Wait for 7 seconds.
-4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B1082 Left side LED headlight circuit malfunction Is DTC B1082 indicated?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- DTC check
-1. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B1081 Left side LED headlight malfunction B1082 Left side LED headlight circuit malfunction B1084 Right side LED headlight circuit malfunction Is DTC B1081, B1082, and/or B1084 indicated?
YES
Faulty left LED control unit assembly; replace the left headlight assembly .
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Go to step 5
- Fuse check
-1. Check the following fuse.
With AC power outlet
Fuse No. A24 (20 A) Location Under-hood fuse/relay box Without AC power outlet
Fuse No. A13 (20 A) Location Under-hood fuse/relay box Is the fuse OK?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Replace the fuse. If the fuse blows again, repair the short to ground in the +B H/L LO MAIN wire.
- Headlight relay test
-1. Do the headlight relay test .
Is the headlight relay OK?
YES
Repair an open or high resistance in the H/L LO RLY CL- wire.
NO
Replace the headlight relay.
- Fuse check
-1. Check the following fuse.
With AC power outlet
Fuse No. A10 (10 A) Location Under-hood fuse/relay box Without AC power outlet
Fuse No. A8 (10 A) Location Under-hood fuse/relay box Is the fuse OK?
YES
Go to step 6.
NO
Replace the fuse. If the fuse blows again, repair the short to ground in the +B L H/L LO(10A) wire.
- Determine possible failure area (+B L H/L LO(10A), L LED TELLTALE lines)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Left LED control unit assembly 8P connector -2. Turn the headlight switch ON.
-3. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Headlight switch ON
Left LED control unit assembly 8P connector: disconnectedTest point 1 Left LED control unit assembly 8P connector (female terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 Left LED control unit assembly 8P connector (female terminals) No. 4: Is there battery voltage?
YES
Go to step 8.
NO
Go to step 7.
- Open wire check (+B L H/L LO(10A) line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Headlight switch ON
Left LED control unit assembly 8P connector: disconnectedTest point 1 Left LED control unit assembly 8P connector (female terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
Repair an open or high resistance in the ground wire or poor ground (G201).
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
- Open wire check (L LED TELLTALE line)
-1. Turn the headlight switch OFF.
-2. Disconnect the following connector.
Under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P) -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Left LED control unit assembly 8P connector: disconnected
Under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P): disconnectedTest point 1 Under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P) No. 24 Test point 2 Left LED control unit assembly 8P connector (female terminals) No. 6: Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 9.
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
- Shorted wire check (L LED TELLTALE line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Left LED control unit assembly 8P connector: disconnected
Under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P): disconnectedTest point 1 Under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P) No. 24 Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short to ground in the wire.
NO
Faulty left LED control unit assembly; replace the left headlight assembly .
