ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION - RDM INDICATOR DOES NOT GO OFF (WITH Auto Idle Stop System) (2016 2017 2018)

  1. DTCs check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait for 5 seconds.

    - 2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES 

    Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Road Departure Mitigation (2016 2017 2018) .

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. PGM-FI system DTCs check

    -1. Check for PGM-FI system DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame
    P0A94 Voltage Stabilizer Malfunction      

    Is DTC P0A94 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems .

    NO 

    Go to step 3.

  3. Fuse check 1

    -1. Check the following fuse.

    Fuse No. D3 (7.5 A)
    Location Auxiliary under-dash fuse/relay box

    Is the fuse OK?

    YES 

    The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 4.

    NO 

    Replace the fuse. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then the OFF (LOCK) mode. If the fuse blows again, repair the short to ground on the No. D3 (7.5 A) fuse circuit.

  4. Fuse check 2

    -1. Check the following fuse.

    Fuse No. C7 (15 A)
    Location Under-dash fuse/relay box

    Is the fuse OK?

    YES 

    The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 5.

    NO 

    Replace the fuse. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then the OFF (LOCK) mode. If the fuse blows again, repair the short to ground on the No. C7 (15 A) fuse circuit.

  5. DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2 check

    -1. Remove DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2, and test it. Power Relay Test (16-18)

    Is the relay OK?

    YES 

    The relay is OK. Go to step 6.

    NO 

    Replace DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2.

  6. Gauge control module operation check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 2. Check the indicator in the gauge control module.

    Do the indicators come on?

    YES 

    Go to step 7.

    NO 

    Go to the gauge control module self-diagnostic function - Refer to: Gauges Self-Diagnostic Function .

  7. Open wire check (IG1 ACM (DC/DC) line) 1-1.

    Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector

    - 3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition
     
    Vehicle ON mode
    Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector No. 19 - Go to: Multipurpose Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs 
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    Go to step 12.

    NO 

    Go to step 8.

  8. Open wire check (IG1 ACM (DC/DC) line) 2

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 2. Remove DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2.

    - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector: disconnected
    DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2: disconnected
    Test point 1 Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector No. 19 - Go to: Multipurpose Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs 
    Test point 2 Remove DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2 4P socket No. 2

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Go to step 9.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the auxiliary under-dash fuse/relay box and the multipurpose camera unit.

  9. Open wire check (+B OUT1 line)

    -1. Reconnect the following connector.

    Gauge control module 32P connector

    - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

    DC-DC converter connector B (5P)

    - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2: disconnected
    DC-DC converter connector B (5P): disconnected
    Test point 1 DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2 4P socket No. 1
    Test point 2 DC-DC converter connector B (5P) No. 5

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The +B OUT2 wire is OK. Go to step 10.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the auxiliary under-dash fuse/relay box and the DC-DC converter.

  10. Open wire check (IG1 ACG line)

    -1. Reconnect the following connector.

    DC-DC converter connector B (5P)

    - 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 3. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle ON mode
    DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2: disconnected
    Test point 1 DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2 4P socket No. 3
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    The IG1 ACG wire is OK. Go to step 11.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1 and the No. C7 (15 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.

  11. Open wire check (GND line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2: disconnected
    Test point 1 DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2 4P socket No. 4
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Replace the DC-DC Converter .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1 and body ground at G301.

  12. Open wire check (GND line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 2. Check for continuity between the following test points and body ground individually.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector No. 14 - Go to: Multipurpose Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs 
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Go to step 13.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the multipurpose camera unit and body ground at G501.

  13. Open wire check (F-CAN A_L, F-CAN A_H lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    CAN gateway 24P connector
    Gauge control module 32P connector

    - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector: disconnected
    Gauge control module 32P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector No. 2 - Go to: Multipurpose Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs 
    Test point 2 Gauge control module 32P connector No. 24 - Go to: Gauge Control Module Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2020 2021)
    Test point 1 Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector No. 13 - Go to: Multipurpose Camera Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs 
    Test point 2 Gauge control module 32P connector No. 25 - Go to: Gauge Control Module Connector for Inputs and Outputs

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the multipurpose camera unit 20P connector. If they are OK, replace the Multipurpose Camera Unit - Removal and Installation .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the gauge control module and the multipurpose camera unit.
