FCW Indicator Does Not Go Off

NOTE:  The FCW indicator comes on when OFF is selected from the Forward Collision Warning Distance in the DRIVER ASSIST SYSTEM SETUP.

  1. DTC check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES 

    Go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting.

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then wait for at least 10 seconds.

    - 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 3. Check the FCW indicator.

    Does the FCW indicator come on for about 6 seconds, then go off?

    YES 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to intermittent failures troubleshooting - Refer to:

    How to Troubleshoot the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) (2016 2017 2018) or

    How to Troubleshoot the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) (2019 2020 2021) .

    NO 

    Go to step 3.

  3. Vehicle settings check

    -1. Check the Forward Collision Warning Distance in the Customize Setup on the MID.

    Does it indicate off?

    YES 

    The system is OK at this time. Select the Forward Collision Warning Distance in the Customize Setup on the MID, and enter the LONG, NORMAL, or SHORT, then retest.

    NO 

    Go to the gauge control module self-diagnostic function - Refer to:

    Gauges Control Module Self-Diagnostic Function (2016 2017 2018) or

    Gauges Control Module Self-Diagnostic Function (2019 2020 2021) .
