DTC B1192 : Gauge Control Module Lost Communication with battery sensor ECU (LIN BUS connected)
NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A - Initial Communication and DTC Checks .

DTC (Gauge Control Module)
- Problem verification
- 1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
Clear DTCs
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the ON mode.
- 3. Wait for at least 4 seconds.
- 4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B1192 Gauge Control Module Lost Communication with battery sensor ECU (LIN BUS connected) Is DTC B1192 indicated?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
- Fuse check
- 1. Check the following fuse.
Fuse No. B4 - Refer to:
Fuse to Components Index (With Auto Idle Stop System) (2019 2020 2021) or
Fuse to Components Index (Without Auto Idle Stop System) (2019 2020 2021) .Is the fuse OK?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Replace the fuse. If the fuse blows again, repair a short to ground in the No. B4 fuse circuit.
- Open wire check (+B BMS line)
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connector.
12 volt battery sensor 2P connector - 3. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
12 volt battery sensor 2P connector: disconnectedTest point 1 12 volt battery sensor 2P connector (female terminals) No. 1: (1) Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
The +B BMS wire is OK. Go to step 4.
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
- Open wire check (LIN(METER) line)
- 1. Disconnect the following connector.
Gauge control module connector A (32P) - 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
12 volt battery sensor 2P connector: disconnectedTest point 1 12 volt battery sensor 2P connector (female terminals) No. 2: (1) Test point 2 Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 23 - Refer to:
Gauge Control Module Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019) or
Gauge Control Module Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2020 2021) .Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the 12 Volt Battery Sensor .
NO
An open or poor connection in the LIN(METER) wire.
