DTC B1C62  : Front Passenger's Heater Current Abnormal High

DTC Description DTC
B1C62 Front passenger's heater current abnormal high  

DTC (Ventilated Seat Control Unit)

  1. Problem verification

    - 1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    Clear DTCs

    - 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the ON mode.

    - 3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
    B1C62 Front passenger's heater current abnormal high  

    Is DTC B1C62 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.

  2. DTC check 1

    - 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Front passenger's seat heater connector A (6P)

    - 3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 4. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    Clear DTCs

    - 5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
    B1C62 Front passenger's heater current abnormal high  

    Is DTC B1C62 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Go to step 4.

  3. Shorted wire check (PS HT line)

    - 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Ventilated seat control unit 14P connector

    - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Ventilated seat control unit 14P connector: disconnected
    Front passenger's seat heater connector A (6P): disconnected
    Test point 1 Ventilated seat control unit 14P connector No. 3
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Repair a short in the PS HT wire.

    NO 

    Replace the Ventilated Seat Control Unit - Removal and Installation .

  4. Shorted wire check (BACK HTR line)

    - 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Front passenger's seat heater connector B (2P)

    - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Ventilated seat control unit 14P connector: disconnected
    Front passenger's seat heater connector A (6P): disconnected
    Front passenger's seat heater connector B (2P): disconnected
    Test point 1 Front passenger's seat heater connector A (6P) No. 6
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Repair a short in the BACK HTR wire.

    NO 

    Go to step 5.

  5. DTC check 2

    - 1. Reconnect the following connector.

    Front passenger's seat heater connector A (6P)
    Ventilated seat control unit 14P connector

    - 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 3. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    Clear DTCs

    - 4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
    B1C62 Front passenger's heater current abnormal high  

    Is DTC B1C62 indicated?

    YES 

    Replace the front passenger's Seat Cushion Heater (Ventilated Seats) .

    NO 

    Replace the front passenger's Seat-Back Heater (Ventilated Seats) .
