DTC (Power Seat Control Unit)
NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A - Go to: Body Electrical Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A - Initial Communication and DTC Checks .
- Problem verification
- 1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
Clear DTCs
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the ON mode.
- 3. Move both power mirrors to the full up and full left positions with the power mirror switch.
- 4. Move the power seat to the full front up and full rear up positions, then slide the seat all the way back and completely recline the seat-back backward with the power seat adjustment switch.
- 5. Set the seating position into memory by pressing either the Driver 1 or the Driver 2 position memory switch.
- 6. Using the power seat switches, move the seat away from the position just memorized.
- 7. Recall the memory position with the driving position memory switch.
- 8. Wait for 2 minutes.
- 9. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B1837 Memory position calling timeout Is DTC B1837 indicated?
DTC B1837 is indicated
Go to step 2.
Any DTCs other than B1837 are indicated
Go to the indicated DTCs troubleshooting.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
- Motor operation check
- 1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
Clear DTCs
- 2. Wait for 6 seconds.
- 3. Move the motors shown one at a time, and check the operation time.
- Power mirror actuator (up, down, left, right)
- Power seat (slide forward/backward, recline forward/backward, front up-down, rear up-down)
Does any motor fail to run smoothly?

Motor fails to run smoothly
Go to the failed motor test:
Motor is OK, but fails to run smoothly
Check the engagement of the motor gear.
NO
Go to the each Control Unit Input Test .
