DTC : B1376 (2019 2020 2021)

DTC B1376  : Tailgate Outer Handle Switch Circuit Malfunction

• NOTE:  If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A - Initial Communication and DTC Checks .
• If the motor does not operate, do the Power Tailgate Motor Test first.

DTCs (Power Tailgate Control Unit)

1. Problem verification

   - 1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

   Clear DTCs

   - 2. Press the tailgate outer handle switch button for more than 1 second.

   - 3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

   B1376 Tailgate Outer Handle Switch Circuit Malfunction

   Is DTC B1376 indicated?

   YES 

   Go to step 2.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.

2. Shorted wire check (PTG O/H SW line)

   - 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

   Power tailgate control unit connector A (24P)

   Keyless access/TPMS control unit connector C (20P)

   - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Power tailgate control unit connector A (24P): disconnected Keyless access/TPMS control unit connector C (20P): disconnected
   Test point 1	Power tailgate control unit connector A (24P) No. 23 - Refer to: Power Tailgate Control Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2019 2020 2021)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   Repair a short to ground in the PTG O/H SW wire.

   NO 

   Repair a short to ground in the PTG SCOM wire.
