DTC : U0029-00 (2016 2017 2018)

DTC U0029-00  : F-CAN Malfunction (BUS-OFF)

NOTE: 

• Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information - Go to:How to Troubleshoot the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) (2016 2017 2018)
• This DTC is stored by communication failure between the F-CAN line and the multipurpose camera unit. When DTC U0029-00 is indicated, the F-CAN line has already returned to normal. Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the connectors. If the connectors are OK, clear the DTC and following this troubleshooting.

1. Connector check

   - 1. Check for loose terminal and poor connection in the following connector.

   Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector

   Is the connector OK?

   YES 

   Go to step 2.

   NO 

   Repair loose terminal or poor connection. Then clear the DTC by using the HDS and recheck DTC U0029-00. If DTC U0029-00 is not confirmed, troubleshooting is complete.

2. Multipurpose camera unit communication check

   - 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then start the engine.

   - 2. Check for communication between the multipurpose camera unit and the HDS.

   Is there communication between the multipurpose camera unit and the HDS?

   YES 

   The system is OK at this time.

   NO 

   Go to F-CAN circuit troubleshooting - Refer to:

   F-CAN Circuit Troubleshooting (9-Speed A/T) (2016 2017 2018) or

   F-CAN Circuit Troubleshooting (6-Speed A/T) (2016 2017 2018) .
