DTC : C0051-96
DTC C0051-96 : Steering Angle Sensor Malfunction
NOTE:

- If DTC U0126-00 is stored at the same time as DTC C0051-96, troubleshoot DTC U0126-00 first, then recheck for DTC C0051-96.
- VSA system DTCs check
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 2. Check for VSA system DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame Are any DTCs indicated?
YES
Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting How to Troubleshoot the VSA System .
NO
Go to step 2.
- Problem verification
- 1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
Clear DTCs
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 3. Start the engine, then turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times.
- 4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC C0051-96 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 3.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to intermittent failures troubleshooting - Refer to:
How to Troubleshoot the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) (2016 2017 2018) How to Troubleshoot the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) (2019 2020 2021) If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the Freeze data/on-board snapshot. - Steering angle sensor check
- 1. Check the CALIBRATION STATUS OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR in the ACC DATA LIST with the HDS.
Is "NOT COMPLETED" indicated?
YES
Do the VSA Sensor Neutral Position Memorization .
NO
Replace the Steering Angle Sensor .
