Blind Spot Information System/Cross Traffic Monitor - The BSI Indicator Does Not Go Off, Or Does Not Come On

  1. DTC check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC (BSI)

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES 

    Go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting.

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then the ON mode.

    - 2. Check the BSI indicator comes on, and then goes off.

    Does the BSI indicator come on, then go off?

    YES 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to intermittent failures troubleshooting - How to Troubleshoot the Blind Spot Information System/Cross Traffic Monitor, .

    NO 

    Go to step 3.

  3. Vehicle settings check

    -1. Check the BSI system is ON status, and make sure the BSI system customizing operation.

    Is the BSI system ON?

    YES 

    Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Cancel the OFF status by operating the BSI customization.

  4. Gauge control module check

    -1. Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function.

    Gauges Self-Diagnostic Function (2016 2017 2018)

    Gauges Self-Diagnostic Function (2019 2020 2021)

    Is the gauge control module OK?

    YES 

    Replace the appropriate BSI Radar Unit .

    NO 

    Replace the Gauge Control Module .
