DTC : B18B4, B1E64

DTC B18B4  : Left Side BSI Radar Unit Dirty

DTC B1E64  : Right Side BSI Radar Unit Dirty

NOTE: 

DTC Description DTC
B18B4 Left Side BSI Radar Unit Dirty  
B1E64 Right Side BSI Radar Unit Dirty  

DTC (BSI)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    Clear DTCs

    - 3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for at least 5 seconds.

    - 5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    B18B4 Left Side BSI Radar Unit Dirty  
    B1E64 Right Side BSI Radar Unit Dirty  

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to intermittent failures troubleshooting - Refer to:

    How to Troubleshoot the Blind Spot Information System/Cross Traffic Monitor (2016 2017 2018)  or

    How to Troubleshoot the Blind Spot Information System/Cross Traffic Monitor (2019 2020 2021) .

  2. Outside rear bumper check

    -1. Check the outside of rear bumper for snow, ice, dirt, contaminants, or stickers.

    Is it OK?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Completely wipe off any dirt or contaminants from the rear bumper.

  3. Inside rear bumper check

    -1. From the rear wheel arch, remove the appropriate side of the rear bumper.

    - 2. Check the inside of the rear bumper for snow, ice, dirt, or contaminants. Also, check the appropriate BSI radar unit surface for dirt or contaminants.

    Is it OK?

    YES 

    Replace the appropriate BSI Radar Unit - Removal and Installation .

    NO 

    Clean the inside of the rear bumper for dirt or contaminations around the BSI radar unit.
