Parking Brake Shoe Removal And Installation: Removal
CAUTION:
Frequent inhalation of brake pad dust, regardless of material composition, could be hazardous to your health.
- Avoid breathing dust particles.
- Never use an air hose or brush to clean brake assemblies. Use an OSHA-approved vacuum cleaner.
- Vehicle - Lift
- Rear Wheels - Remove
- Rear Brake Disc/Drum - Remove
- Parking Brake Cable - Disconnect
1. Using a flat-tip screwdriver (A), detach the clip (B) and then rotate the clip down. 2. Pull out the link of the parking brake lever assembly, and then remove the pin (A). 3. Remove the parking brake cable (B) from the parking brake lever assembly.
4. Remove the parking brake cable (A). - Parking Brake Shoe - Remove
1. Disconnect and remove the brake spring A. 2. Disconnect and remove brake spring B. 3. Remove the tension pins (A) by pushing the respective retainer springs (B), retainers (C), and turning the pin. 4. Remove the adjuster assembly (D).
5. Remove the parking brake lever assembly (E).
6. Remove the parking brake shoes (F).
