Removal and Installation

NOTE:  Refer to the Exploded View as needed during this procedure.

Front Parking Brake Cable 

  1. Front Door Sill Trim - Remove - Refer to: Interior Trim Removal and Installation - Door Areas
  2. Kick Panel - Remove - Refer to: Interior Trim Removal and Installation - Door Areas
  3. Center Console Side Cover (Driver's Side) - Remove - Refer to: Center Console Side Cover - Remove (Driver's Side)
  4. Parking Brake - Release
  5. Parking Brake Cable - Disconnect

    1. Remove the parking brake cable mounting bolts (A).

    2. Disconnect the connector (A).

    3. Remove the harness clip (B)


    4. Remove the parking brake pedal assembly (C).

    5. Pull back the carpet as needed.

    6. Remove the spring (A).

    7. Disconnect the parking brake cable (B) from the parking brake pedal assembly.

    8. Remove the parking brake cable mounting bolts (A).

    9. Disconnect the parking brake cables (B) from the equalizer (C).

    10. Disconnect the parking brake cable (D).

  6. All Removed Parts - Install
    1. Install the parking brake cable in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Parking Brake - Adjust

    Rear Parking Brake Cables 

  1. Vehicle - Lift
  2. Rear Wheel - Remove
  3. Parking Brake - Release
  4. Driver's seat - Forward move
  5. Parking Brake Cable Front Side - Disconnect

    1. Remove the wire guide base (A).

    2. Disconnect the parking brake cables (B) from the equalizer (C).

  6. Rear Brake Disc/Drum - Remove
  7. Parking Brake Cable Rear Side - Disconnect

    1. Using a flat-tip screwdriver (A), detach the clip (B) and then rotate the clip down.

    2. Pull out the link of the parking brake lever assembly, and then remove the pin (A).

    3. Remove the parking brake cable (B) from the parking brake lever assembly.

    4. Remove the parking brake cable (A).
  8. Parking Brake Cable - Remove

    1. Remove the parking brake cable grommets (A).

    2. Pull out the parking brake cables (B) from the body floor.

    3. Remove the parking brake cable (A).
    NOTE:  Be careful not to bend or distort the cable.
  9. All Removed Parts - Install
    1. Install the parking brake cable in the reverse order of removal.
  10. Parking Brake - Adjust
