Removal and Installation

  1. Air Cleaner - Remove
  2. Master Cylinder - Remove 
  3. Under-Hood Fuse/Relay Box - Move
  4. Brake Line - Remove

    1. Remove the brake lines (A) from the brake line clamps (B).
  5. Brake Booster - Remove

    1. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose (A) from the brake booster (B).

    2. Remove the lock pin (A).

    3. Remove the clevis pin (B).

    NOTE:  Apply multipurpose grease to the yoke pin in the brake pedal.

    4. Remove the brake booster mounting nuts (C).

    5. Remove the brake booster (A) from the engine compartment.
    • Be careful not to damage the brake booster mounting surfaces and the threads on the booster studs.
    • Be careful not to bend or damage the brake lines.
    • Use the new brake booster gasket (B) during reassembly.
  6. All Removed Parts - Install
    1. Install the brake booster in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
