LANEWATCH - LANEWATCH CAMERA IMAGE DOES NOT COME ON (Switches to the black screen) (2019 2020 2021)
NOTE:
- If body electrical DTC is stored, troubleshoot body electrical DTC first Network Communication DTC Troubleshooting Index .
- If the audio and visual system fails, troubleshoot audio and visual system first Troubleshoot The Audio & Visual System [Display Audio Type (8-inch Screen)] .
- LaneWatch system check (audio and visual system diagnostic mode) 1
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 2. Go into the system diagnostic mode, and select the DETAIL INFORMATION and SETTING icon. Detail Information and Setting
- 3. Select the FUNCTIONAL SETUP icon.
- 4. Select the LANEWATCH DETAILED INFORMATION DISPLAY icon.
Is "Connected judgment OK" indicated?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
Check for poor connection or loose terminal at the LaneWatch camera, then go to step 5.
- LaneWatch system check (audio and visual system diagnostic mode) 2
-1. Check these statuses on the display:
- Flash ROM failure
- CMOS sensor failure
Are "Flash ROM failure OK" and "CMOS sensor failure OK" indicated?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Replace the LaneWatch camera - Go to: LaneWatch Camera - Removal and Installation .
- Open wire check (LWC CAM V line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connectors.
LaneWatch camera 6P connector Infotainment control unit connector G (12P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode LaneWatch camera 6P connector: disconnected Infotainment control unit connector G (12P): disconnected Test point 1 LaneWatch camera 6P connector (female terminals) No. 4: (1) Test point 2 Infotainment control unit connector G (12P) No. 10 Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Repair an open in the LWC CAM V wire between the LaneWatch camera and the infotainment control unit.
- Shorted wire check (LWC CAM V line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode LaneWatch camera 6P connector: disconnected Infotainment control unit connector G (12P): disconnected Test point 1 Infotainment control unit connector G (12P) No. 10 Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short to ground in the LWC CAM V wire between the LaneWatch camera and the infotainment control unit.
NO
The LaneWatch system circuit is OK. If the symptom is still present when body electrical system and the audio and visual system are OK, replace the infotainment control unit .
- Open wire check (LWC CAM V GND line, LWC CAM UART line, LWC CAM +B line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connectors.
LaneWatch camera 6P connector Infotainment control unit connector G (12P) - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode LaneWatch camera 6P connector: disconnected Infotainment control unit connector G (12P): disconnected Test point 1 LaneWatch camera 6P connector (female terminals) No. 5: (1) Test point 2 Infotainment control unit connector G (12P) No. 8 Test point 1 LaneWatch camera 6P connector (female terminals) No. 6: (1) Test point 2 Infotainment control unit connector G (12P) No. 11 Test point 1 LaneWatch camera 6P connector (female terminals) No. 1: (1) Test point 2 Infotainment control unit connector G (12P) No. 9 Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 6.
NO
Repair or replace the corresponding wire between the LaneWatch camera and the infotainment control unit.
- Shorted wire check (LWC CAM V GND line, LWC CAM UART line, LWC CAM +B line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode LaneWatch camera 6P connector: disconnected Infotainment control unit connector G (12P): disconnected Test point 1 Infotainment control unit connector G (12P) No. 8 Test point 2 Body ground Test point 1 Infotainment control unit connector G (12P) No. 9 Test point 2 Body ground Test point 1 Infotainment control unit connector G (12P) No. 11 Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short to ground in corresponding wire between the LaneWatch camera and the infotainment control unit.
NO
Replace the LaneWatch camera - Refer to: LaneWatch Camera Removal and Installation . If the symptom is still present, replace the Infotainment Control Unit .
