NOTE:
- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems .
- According to the detected DTC (s), check for the power circuit and the ground circuit of the control unit which cannot communicate with the PCM.
- Before disconnecting the SRS unit connector, do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure , and wait for at least 3 minutes.

- 1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 2. Check for CAN gateway system DTCs with the HDS.

YES
Go to the troubleshooting for CAN gateway system DTC (s) .
NO
Go to step 2.
- F-CAN circuit communication check (Receiving control unit)
- 1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

Bus A is Not Available
Go to step 3.
Bus B is Not Available
Go to step 4.
Bus A and B are Available
Go to step 5.
- Open wire check (F-CAN A_H line, F-CAN A_L line)
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
- 3. Disconnect the following connectors.
CAN gateway 16P connector PCM connector A (50P) - 4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

If the indicated DTC goes away and the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM - Refer to: PCM Removal and Installation (9-Speed A/T) (2019 2020 2021), or PCM Removal and Installation (6-Speed A/T), ('16-'18 9-Speed A/T) .

Repair an open in the F-CAN A_H wire or the F-CAN A_L wire between the PCM (A10, A11) and the CAN gateway.
- Open wire check (F-CAN B_H line, F-CAN B_L line)
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
- 3. Disconnect the following connectors.

Repair an open in the F-CAN B_H wire or the F-CAN B_L wire between the PCM (A12, A13) and the CAN gateway.
- F-CAN circuit communication check (Transmitting control unit)
- 1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

According to the detected DTC on the following table, make sure that the transmitting control unit detects the CAN gateway Bus channel (s) normally.

If DTC U0103 goes away and the SBW shifter control module was substituted, replace the original SBW shifter control module .DTC Operation for transmitting control unit U0104 Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the multipurpose camera unit. Substitute a known-good multipurpose camera unit , then recheck. If DTC U0104 goes away and the multipurpose camera unit was substituted, replace the original multipurpose camera unit . Substitute a known-good gauge control module , then recheck.
If DTC U0155 goes away and the gauge control module was substituted, replace the original gauge control module .NO
Repair an open in the F-CAN A_H wire or the F-CAN A_L wire between the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.
- Open wire check (F-CAN B_H line, F-CAN B_L line)
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the following connectors.
CAN gateway 16P connector - 3. Disconnect the transmitting control unit connector (s).
Refer to the DTC shown on the display, then disconnect the connector (s) based on the instructions (see table).

If DTC U0103 goes away and the SBW shifter control module was substituted, replace the original SBW shifter control module .U0114 Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the i-VTM control unit. Replace the i-VTM control unit . U1101 Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the engine mount control unit. Substitute a known-good engine mount control unit , then recheck.
If DTC U1101 goes away and the engine mount control unit was substituted, replace the original engine mount control unit .U129E Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the keyless access/TPMS control unit. Substitute a known-good keyless access/TPMS control unit , then recheck.
If DTC U129E goes away and the keyless access/TPMS control unit was substituted, replace the original keyless access/TPMS control unit .NO
Repair an open in the F-CAN B_H wire and/or the F-CAN B_L wire between the receiving control unit and the transmitting control unit.
