NOTE:

Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems .
According to the detected DTC (s), check for the power circuit and the ground circuit of the control unit which cannot communicate with the PCM.
Before disconnecting the SRS unit connector, do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure , and wait for at least 3 minutes.

- 1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

- 2. Check for CAN gateway system DTCs with the HDS.

F-CAN circuit communication check (Receiving control unit)
- 1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

Open wire check (F-CAN A_H line, F-CAN A_L line)

- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

- 2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

- 3. Disconnect the following connectors.

- 4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

The F-CAN A_H wire and the F-CAN A_L wire are OK.

Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the PCM.

Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. - Refer to: PCM Removal and Installation (6-Speed A/T), ('16-'18 9-Speed A/T), or PCM Removal and Installation (9-Speed A/T) (2019 2020 2021)

If the indicated DTC goes away and the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM - Refer to: PCM Removal and Installation (9-Speed A/T) (2019 2020 2021), or PCM Removal and Installation (6-Speed A/T), ('16-'18 9-Speed A/T) .

Repair an open in the F-CAN A_H wire or the F-CAN A_L wire between the PCM (A10, A11) and the CAN gateway.

Open wire check (F-CAN B_H line, F-CAN B_L line)

- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

- 2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

- 3. Disconnect the following connectors.

If indicated DTC goes away and the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM - Refer to:

PCM Removal and Installation (9-Speed A/T) (2019 2020 2021), or PCM Removal and Installation (6-Speed A/T), ('16-'18 9-Speed A/T) .

Repair an open in the F-CAN B_H wire or the F-CAN B_L wire between the PCM (A12, A13) and the CAN gateway.

F-CAN circuit communication check (Transmitting control unit)

- 1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

U0103	Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the SBW shifter control module. Substitute a known-good SBW shifter control module , then recheck. If DTC U0103 goes away and the SBW shifter control module was substituted, replace the original SBW shifter control module .

U129E	Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the keyless access/TPMS control unit. Substitute a known-good keyless access/TPMS control unit , then recheck. If DTC U129E goes away and the keyless access/TPMS control unit was substituted, replace the original keyless access/TPMS control unit .

Repair an open in the F-CAN B_H wire and/or the F-CAN B_L wire between the receiving control unit and the transmitting control unit.
