DTC Troubleshooting: C1811-13, C1812-13, C1813-13, C1814-13

DTC C1811-13  : Right-Front Initiator Circuit Open DTC C1812-13  : Left-Front Initiator Circuit Open DTC C1813-13  : Right-Rear Initiator Circuit Open DTC C1814-13  : Left-Rear Initiator Circuit Open

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

C1811-13 Right-Front Initiator Circuit Open  
C1812-13 Left-Front Initiator Circuit Open  
C1813-13 Right-Rear Initiator Circuit Open  
C1814-13 Left-Rear Initiator Circuit Open  

DTC (TPMS)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.

    -4. Check for DTCs with the HDS, and note the indicated DTC(s).

    C1811-13 Right-Front Initiator Circuit Open  
    C1812-13 Left-Front Initiator Circuit Open  
    C1813-13 Right-Rear Initiator Circuit Open  
    C1814-13 Left-Rear Initiator Circuit Open  

    Is DTC C1811-13, C1812-13, C1813-13, or C1814-13 indicated?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting .

  2. Open wire check (FR AS+, FR DR+, RR R+, RR L+ lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Appropriate LF antenna/initiator 2P connector
    Body control module connector F (36P)
    DTC Tire Location
    C1811-13 Right-front
    C1812-13 Left-front
    C1813-13 Right-rear
    C1814-13 Left-rear

    -3. Check for continuity between the appropriate body control module connector F (36P) terminal and appropriate LF antenna/initiator 2P connector terminal No. 2 (see chart).

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Appropriate LF antenna/initiator 2P connector: disconnected
      Body control module connector F (36P): disconnected
    DTC Body control module connector F (36P) terminal Appropriate LF antenna/initiator 2P connector (female terminals) terminal:
    C1811-13 No. 12 No. 2(Right-front)
    C1812-13 No. 13 No. 2(Left-front)
    C1813-13 No. 15 No. 2(Right-rear)
    C1814-13 No. 16 No. 2(Left-rear)

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The FR AS+, FR DR+, RR R+, RR L+ wires are OK. Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the body control module and the appropriate LF antenna/initiator.

  3. Open wire check (FR AS-, FR DR-, RR R-, RR L- lines)

    -1. Check for continuity between the appropriate body control module connector F (36P) terminal and appropriate LF antenna/initiator 2P connector terminal No. 1 (see table).

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Appropriate LF antenna/initiator 2P connector: disconnected
      Body control module connector F (36P): disconnected

    C1812-13 No. 31 No. 1(Left-front)

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The FR AS-, FR DR-, RR R-, RR L- wires are OK. Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the body control module and the appropriate LF antenna/initiator.

  4. DTC check

    -1. Check for noted DTC(s) in Problem verification.

    C1811-13 Right-Front Initiator Circuit Open  
    C1812-13 Left-Front Initiator Circuit Open  
    DTC Description DTC
    C1813-13 Right-Rear Initiator Circuit Open  
    C1814-13 Left-Rear Initiator Circuit Open  

    DTC C1811-13, C1812-13, C1813-13, and C1814-13 indicated at the same time?

    YES 

    Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the body control module connectors. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the body control module .

    NO 

    Go to step 5.

  5. LF antenna/initiator check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Swap a known-good LF antenna/initiator with the LF antenna/initiator indicated by the DTC.

    C1811-13 Right-front
    C1812-13 Left-front
    C1813-13 Right-rear
    C1814-13 Left-rear

    -3. Reconnect the following connectors.

    Appropriate LF antenna/initiator 2P connector
    Body control module connector F (36P)

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -6. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.

    -7. Check for DTCs with the HDS, and compare the indicated DTC with the noted DTC(s) in Problem verification.

    C1812-13 Left-Front Initiator Circuit Open  
    C1813-13 Right-Rear Initiator Circuit Open  
    C1814-13 Left-Rear Initiator Circuit Open  

    Does the indicated DTC change between the initiators that were replaced in step 5-2?

    YES 

    Replace the appropriate LF antenna/initiator .

    NO 

    Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the body control module connectors. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the body control module .
