DTC Troubleshooting: C1801-55, C1802-55, C1803-55, C1804-55
DTC C1801-55 : Right-Front Tire Pressure Sensor ID Registration Error DTC C1802-55 : Left-Front Tire Pressure Sensor ID Registration Error DTC C1803-55 : Right-Rear Tire Pressure Sensor ID Registration Error DTC C1804-55 : Left-Rear Tire Pressure Sensor ID Registration Error
NOTE:
- The following DTCs will only set during initialization with the HDS.
- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

DTC (TPMS)
- Wheel check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Check the wheels for TPMS type tire pressure sensor are mounted on the DTC located on.
DTC Tire Location C1801-55 Right-front C1802-55 Left-front C1803-55 Right-rear C1804-55 Left-rear Are TPMS type wheels mounted on the vehicle?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
Install a TPMS type wheel, and memorize the tire pressure sensor ID. Drive the vehicle above 15 mph (24 km/h) continuously for 40 seconds, or memorize the sensor ID with the HDS .
- System check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.
-2. Do the INITIATOR OPERATION CHECK in the FUNCTIONAL TESTS with the HDS.
Initiator Operation Check
NOTE: If NG is shown, turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, rotate the tire 1/4 turn, then turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and try again. If NG is still displayed, repeat this procedure until OK is shown.
Is OK indicated within one full turn of the tire?
YES
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting .
NO
Go to step 3.
- Tire pressure sensor check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Substitute a wheel with a known-good tire pressure sensor on the vehicle .
-3. To memorize the tire pressure sensor ID, drive the vehicle above 15 mph (24 km/h) for 40 continuous seconds, or memorize the sensor ID with the HDS .
-4. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.
-5. Do the INITIATOR OPERATION CHECK in the FUNCTIONAL TESTS with the HDS.
Initiator Operation Check
NOTE: If NG is shown, turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, rotate the tire 1/4 turn, then turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and try again. If NG is still displayed, repeat this procedure until OK is shown.
Is OK indicated within one full turn of the tire?
YES
Replace the tire pressure sensor on the original wheel .
NO
Go to step 4.
- LF antenna/initiator check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Substitute a LF antenna/initiator from a known-good location on the current vehicle, or from another known-good vehicle.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-4. Do the INITIATOR OPERATION CHECK in the FUNCTIONAL TESTS with the HDS.
Initiator Operation Check
NOTE: If NG is shown, turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, rotate the tire 1/4 turn, then turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and try again. If NG is still displayed, repeat this procedure until OK is shown.
Is OK indicated within one full turn of the tire?
YES
Replace the appropriate LF antenna/initiator .
NO
Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the body control module connectors. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the body control module .
