DTC U0100-00, U0101-00, U0123-00, U0126-00, U0129-00, U0151-00, U0155-00 (VSA Control Unit)

DTC U0100-00  : CAN Communication Failure with ECM/ISU
DTC U0101-00  : CAN Communication Failure with PCM/TCM
DTC U0123-00  : CAN Communication Failure with Yaw-Rate/Acceleration Sensor
DTC U0126-00  : CAN Communication Failure with Absolute Steering Wheel Angle Sensor
DTC U0129-00  : CAN Communication Failure with AHB/ESB/EBB

DTC (VSA)

  1. CAN gateway system DTC check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Check for CAN gateway system DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC (CAN gateway)

    Is DTC indicated?

    YES 

    Go to indicated DTC's troubleshooting .

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. F-CAN circuit communication check (Receiving control unit)

    -1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

    Does the VSA modulator-control unit detect the CAN gateway Bus channels A and B?

    Bus A is Not Available

    Go to step 3.

    Bus B is Not Available

    Go to step 4.

    Bus A and B are Available

    Go to step 5.

  3. Open wire check (F-CAN A_H, F-CAN A_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    CAN gateway 16P connector
    VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
      VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 3:
    Test point 2 VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector No. 20
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 11:
    Test point 2 VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector No. 21

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The F-CAN A_H and F-CAN A_L wires are OK. Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the VSA modulator-control unit connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or replace the VSA modulator-control unit .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the VSA modulator-control unit and the CAN gateway.

  4. Open wire check (F-CAN B_H, F-CAN B_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    CAN gateway 16P connector
    VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
      VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 6:
    Test point 2 VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector No. 24
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 14:

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The F-CAN B_H and F-CAN B_L wires are OK. Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the VSA modulator-control unit connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or replace the VSA modulator-control unit .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the VSA modulator-control unit and the CAN gateway.

  5. F-CAN circuit communication check (Transmitting control unit)

    -1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

    According to the detected DTC on the following table, make sure that the transmitting control unit detects the CAN gateway Bus channel (s) normally.

    Is it detected normally?

    Detected normal

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.

    U0100-00: PCM is Not Available for Bus A

    Go to step 6.

    U0100-00: PCM is Not Available for Bus C

    Go to step 8.

    U0101-00: PCM is Not Available for Bus A

    Go to step 6.

    U0101-00: PCM is Not Available for Bus C

    Go to step 8.

    U0123-00: SRS unit is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 7.

    U0126-00: EPS control unit is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 7.

    U0129-00: Electric servo brake control unit is Not Available for Bus A

    Go to step 6.

    U0129-00: Electric servo brake control unit is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 7.

    U0151-00: SRS unit is Not Available for Bus B

    Go to step 7.

    U0155-00: Gauge control module is Not Available for Bus C

    Go to step 8.

  6. Open wire check (F-CAN A_H, F-CAN A_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector (s).

    U0100-00 PCM connector A (50P)
    U0101-00 PCM connector A (50P)
    U0129-00 Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector

    NOTE: 

    • Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute when disconnecting the PCM connector.
    • Before disconnecting the electric servo brake control unit connector, open the driver's door and wait for 3 minutes without closing the driver's door.

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The F-CAN A_H and F-CAN A_L wires are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. According to the detected DTC on the following table, substitute or replace the correspond control unit.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.

  7. Open wire check (F-CAN B_H, F-CAN B_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector (s).

    U0123-00 SRS unit connector A (39P)
    U0126-00 EPS control unit connector B (6P)
    U0129-00 Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector
    U0151-00 SRS unit connector A (39P)

    NOTE: 

    • Before disconnecting the SRS unit connector, do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure and wait for at least 3 minutes.
    • Before disconnecting the electric servo brake control unit connector, open the driver's door and wait for 3 minutes without closing the driver's door.

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The F-CAN B_H and F-CAN B_L wires are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. According to the detected DTC on the following table, substitute or replace the correspond control unit.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.

  8. Open wire check (F-CAN C_H, F-CAN C_L lines)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector (s).

    U0155-00 Gauge control module connector A (32P)

    NOTE:  Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute when disconnecting the PCM connector.

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    The F-CAN C_H and F-CAN C_L wires are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. According to the detected DTC on the following table, substitute or replace the correspond control unit.
