Back-Up Light Switch Test(M/T) (2016 2017 2018): Test

Back-Up Light Side 

  1. Air Cleaner - Remove
  2. Back-Up Light Switch - Test

    		 1. Disconnect the connector (A).

    		 2. Check for continuity between back-up light switch 4P connector terminals No. 2 and No. 4. There should be continuity only when the shift lever is in reverse.
    • If the test result is OK, go to step 5.
    • If the test result is not OK, go to step 3.

    		 3. Remove the back-up light switch (A).

    4. Check for continuity between back-up light switch 4P connector terminals No. 2 and No. 4. There should be continuity when the switch end (B) is pressed, and no continuity when the switch end is released.

    • If the test result is OK, check the reverse shift mechanism in the transmission.
    • If the test result is not OK, replace the back-up light switch.

    		 5. Clean any dirt and oil from the sealing surface of the back-up light switch and the transmission housing.

    6. Apply liquid gasket (P/N 08C70- K0334M) to the threads of the back-up light switch (A). Install the back-up light switch within 5 minutes of applying the liquid gasket.

    NOTE:  If too much time has passed after applying the liquid gasket, remove the old liquid gasket and residue, then reapply new liquid gasket.

    		 7. Connect the connector (A).
  3. Air Cleaner - Install

    VSA Modulator-Control Unit Side 

  4. Air Cleaner - Remove
  5. Back-Up Light Switch - Test

    		 1. Disconnect the connector (A).

    		 2. Check for resistance value between back-up light switch 4P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3. There should be resistance value only when the shift lever is in reverse.
    • If the test result is OK, go to step 6.
    • If the test result is not OK, go to step 3.
    Specification 
      Resistance Value: 750 Ω

    		 3. Remove the back-up light switch (A).

    4. Check for resistance value between back-up light switch 4P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3. There should be continuity when the switch end (B) is pressed, and no resistance value when the switch end is released.

    • If the test result is OK, check the reverse shift mechanism in the transmission.
    • If the test result is not OK, replace the back-up light switch.
    Specification 
      Resistance Value: 750 Ω
