DTC (Electric Powertrain)
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-5. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame U0599 DC-DC Converter Serial Communication Receive Error U1220 DC-DC Converter Serial Communication Transmit Error Are DTC U0599 and/or U1220 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the DC-DC converter and battery condition monitor module A. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
- CAN gateway system DTC check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Check for CAN gateway system DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC DTC (CAN Gateway)
Are any DTCs indicated?
YES
Go to the troubleshooting for CAN gateway system DTC(s) .
NO
Go to step 3.
- DTC check
-1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame P0AFA HV Battery System A Voltage Low Is DTC P0AFA indicated?
YES
Go to the DTC P0AFA troubleshooting .
NO
Go to step 4.
- Open wire check (IGB line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .
-3. Remove the service plug .
-4. Remove the IPU .
-5. Remove the IPU cover .
-6. Disconnect the following connector.
DC-DC converter 4P connector -7. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode DC-DC converter 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 IPU 33P connector (male terminals) No. 33: Test point 2 DC-DC converter 4P connector (male terminals) No. 2: Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 5.
NO
Repair an open in the IGB wire between the IPU 33P connector and the DC-DC converter.
- Open wire check (F-CAN A_H line, F-CAN A_L line)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P) -2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode DC-DC converter 4P connector: disconnected Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P): disconnected Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P) No. 12 Test point 2 DC-DC converter 4P connector (female terminals) No. 1: Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P) No. 24 Test point 2 DC-DC converter 4P connector (female terminals) No. 3: Is there continuity?
YES
NO
Repair an open in the F-CAN A_H or the F-CAN A_L wire between battery condition monitor module A and the DC-DC converter.
