DTC P0AFA (492) (Battery Condition Monitor Module A)
DTC P0AFA (492): HV Battery System A Voltage Low
General Description
The battery condition monitor module A drives the IGB relay and monitors the output voltage. If the IGB voltage decreases even though there is a certain voltage to the IG1MONI, the battery condition monitor module A detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type
| Execution | Continuous |
| Sequence | None |
| Duration | 500 milliseconds or more |
| DTC Type | One drive cycle, MIL on, POWER SYSTEM indicator on, 12 volt battery charging system indicator off |
Enable Conditions
| Condition | ||
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle | ON mode | |
Malfunction Threshold
The IGB voltage is 1.0 V or less for at least 500 milliseconds when the IG1MONI voltage is 9.2 V or more.
Possible Cause
- IGB relay IGHLDB/IG HOLD2 RLY CL- line open
- IGB relay IGB line open (include fuse blown)
- IGB relay failure
- Battery condition monitor module A internal circuit failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the battery condition monitor module A memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator are cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
