DTC P06E4 (509): Wake-up Circuit Performance (Battery Charge Control Module - Battery Condition Monitor Module A)
General Description
The controller area network (CAN) transmits/receives pulsing signals to/from some control modules simultaneously by using two signal lines (EPP-CAN A_H and EPP-CAN A_L). The battery condition monitor module A compares the wake up signal connected to the battery charge control module and the wake up signal information (battery charge control module detected value) sent from the battery charge control module via CAN lines for malfunction detection. If there is difference between them for a set time, the battery condition monitor module A detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
There is difference between the wake up signal output from the battery charge control module and the wake up signal information transmitted from the battery condition monitor module A via the EPP-CAN lines for at least 2.0 seconds.

- Battery charge control module failure

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the battery condition monitor module A memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator are cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
