DTC P0602 (617): Battery Charge Control Module Programming Error
General Description
The control processor in the battery charge control module can be rewritten with updated software. The control processor confirms if the control program update is completed normally. When the power is turned on after updating executed and it failed, the battery charge control module detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
The power is applied after the control processor control program has not been rewritten normally, and the battery charge control module is activated.

- Battery charge control module (control processor program) program rewriting is not completed
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator come on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the battery charge control module memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator are cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
