U0100 Climate Control Unit Lost Communication With MG Module
U1207 Climate Control Unit Lost Communication With ECOMP Module
U12A4 Climate Control Unit Lost Communication With HVHTR Module

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES

    Go to step 2.

    NO

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the climate control unit, the CAN gateway, the PCM, the electric A/C compressor, and the electric coolant heater. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

  2. CAN gateway system DTC check

-1. Check for CAN gateway system DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES

Go to the troubleshooting for CAN gateway system DTC(s) .

    NO

    Go to step 3.

  3. F-CAN circuit communication check (Receiving control unit)

-1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

Does the Climate control unit detect the CAN gateway Bus channels A?

    Yes: Bus A is Available

    Go to step 5.

NO: Bus A is Not Available

    Go to step 4.

  4. Open wire check (F-CAN A_H line, F-CAN A_L line)

-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    CAN gateway 16P connector
Climate control unit connector A (32P)

-3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    F-CAN_H line

Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
Climate control unit connector A (32P): disconnected
Test point 1 CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 3:
Test point 2 Climate control unit connector A (32P) No. 8

    F-CAN_L line

Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      CAN gateway 16P connector: disconnected
Climate control unit connector A (32P): disconnected

    U0100 PCM A
    U1207 Electric A/C compressor A
    U12A4 Electric coolant heater A

    Is it detected normally?

    YES: Detected normal

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.

NO: PCM is Not Available for Bus A

    Go to step 6.

NO: Electric A/C compressor is Not Available for Bus A

    Go to step 6.

NO: Electric coolant heater is Not Available for Bus A

    Go to step 6.

  6. Open wire check (F-CAN A_H line, F-CAN A_L line)
