DTC (VSA)
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then the READY TO DRIVE mode.
-4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC C0031-14 Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Failure (Circuit Short To Ground or Open) C0034-14 Right-Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Failure (Circuit Short To Ground or Open) C0037-14 Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Failure (Circuit Short To Ground or Open) C003A-14 Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Failure (Circuit Short To Ground or Open) Is DTC C0031-14, C0034-14, C0037-14, or C003A-14 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting .
- Shorted wire check (SNSR+, SNSR- lines to ground)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connector.
VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector -3. Check for continuity between body ground and the appropriate wheel speed sensor +B and GND terminals of the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector individually (see table).

- Wheel speed sensor(s) check 1
-1. Disconnect the following connectors.
Appropriate wheel speed sensor 2P connector (front) Appropriate wheel speed sensor 4P connector (rear) -2. On the sensor side, check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

NO
Repair a short to ground in the SNSR+ and/or the SNSR- wires between the VSA modulator-control unit and the wheel speed sensor.
- Shorted wire check (SNSR+, SNSR- lines to power)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Measure the voltage between body ground and the appropriate wheel speed sensor +B and GND terminals of the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector individually (see table).

- Wheel speed sensor(s) check 2
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Appropriate wheel speed sensor 2P connector (front) Appropriate wheel speed sensor 4P connector (rear) -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-4. On the sensor side, measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

NO
Repair a short to power in the SNSR+ and/or the SNSR- wires between the VSA modulator-control unit and the appropriate wheel speed sensor.
- Shorted wire check (SNSR+, SNSR- lines wire to wire)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Appropriate wheel speed sensor 2P connector (front) Appropriate wheel speed sensor 4P connector (rear) -3. Check for continuity between the appropriate VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector wheel speed sensor +B and GND terminals (see table).

NO
The SNSR+ and the SNSR- wires are not shorted in the wires. Go to step 7.
- Open wire check (SNSR+ lines)
-1. Check for continuity between the appropriate VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector terminal and the appropriate wheel speed sensor 2P connector (front) terminal or wheel speed sensor 4P connector (rear) terminal (see table).

NO
Repair an open in the SNSR+ wires between the appropriate wheel speed sensor and the VSA modulator-control unit.
- Open wire check (SNSR- lines)
-1. Check for continuity between the appropriate VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector terminal and the appropriate wheel speed sensor 2P connector (front) terminal or wheel speed sensor 4P connector (rear) terminal (see table).

The SNSR- wires are OK. Go to step 9.
NO
Repair an open in the SNSR- wires between the appropriate wheel speed sensor and the VSA modulator-control unit.
- Wheel speed sensor(s) check
-1. Substitute a known-good wheel speed sensor .
DTC Appropriate Wheel Speed Sensor C0031-14 Left-front C0034-14 Right-front C0037-14 Left-rear C003A-14 Right-rear -2. Reconnect the following connectors.
VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector Appropriate wheel speed sensor 2P connector (front) Appropriate wheel speed sensor 4P connector (rear) -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-4. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then the READY TO DRIVE mode.
-6. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC C0031-14 Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Failure (Circuit Short To Ground or Open) C0034-14 Right-Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Failure (Circuit Short To Ground or Open) C0037-14 Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Failure (Circuit Short To Ground or Open) C003A-14 Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Failure (Circuit Short To Ground or Open) Is DTC C0031-14, C0034-14, C0037-14, or C003A-14 indicated?
YES
Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the VSA modulator-control unit .
