Sport Mode Switch Circuit Troubleshooting
- Sport mode switch check
-1. Test the sport mode switch .
Is the sport mode switch OK?
YES
The sport mode switch is OK. Go to step 2.
NO
- Open wire check (GND line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Sport mode switch 8P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Sport mode switch 8P connector (female terminals) No. 6: Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
The GND wire is OK. Go to step 3.
NO
Repair an open in the GND wire between the sport mode switch and ground (G303) or repair poor ground (G303).
- Shorted wire check (SPORT MODE SW line)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Gauge control module connector A (32P)
-2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Sport mode switch 8P connector: disconnected Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected Test point 1 Sport mode switch 8P connector (female terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short to body ground in the SPORT MODE SW wire between the sport mode switch and the gauge control module.
NO
The SPORT MODE SW wire is not shorted. Go to step 4.
- Open wire check (SPORT MODE SW line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Sport mode switch 8P connector: disconnected Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected Test point 1 Sport mode switch 8P connector (female terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 6 Is there continuity?
YES
The SPORT MODE SW wire is OK. Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function .
NO
Repair an open in the SPORT MODE SW wire between the sport mode switch and the gauge control module.
