Cylinder Head Cover, CMP Pulse Plate, VTC Actuator, Exhaust Camshaft Sprocket, Camshaft, and Rocker Arm Assembly

  1. Intake Air Resonator - Remove
  2. Air Cleaner - Remove
  3. Ignition Coil - Remove
  4. Engine Wire Harness - Move
  5. Cylinder Head Cover - Remove
  6. Head Cover Gasket - Remove
  7. CMP Sensor B - Remove
  8. CMP Sensor A - Remove
  9. Cam Chain - Remove

    		 1. Loosen the rocker arm adjusting screws (A).

    2. Remove the cam chain

  10. CMP Sensor Holder - Remove
  11. CMP Pulse Plate A - Remove

    		 1. Hold the intake camshaft with an open-end wrench, then loosen the CMP pulse plate A mounting bolt.

    2. Remove CMP pulse plate A.
  12. VTC Actuator - Remove

    		 1. Hold the intake camshaft with an open-end wrench, then loosen the VTC actuator mounting bolt.

    2. Remove the VTC actuator.
  13. Exhaust Camshaft Sprocket - Remove

    		 1. Hold the exhaust camshaft with an open-end wrench, then loosen the exhaust camshaft sprocket mounting bolt.

    2. Remove the exhaust camshaft sprocket.
  14. Camshaft Holder - Remove

    1. Remove the camshaft holder bolts. To prevent damaging the camshafts, loosen the bolts, in sequence, two turns at a time.
  15. Intake Camshaft - Remove
  16. Exhaust Camshaft - Remove
  17. CMP Pulse Plate B - Remove

    		 1. Secure the exhaust camshaft in a vise with wood blocks, then loosen the CMP pulse plate B mounting bolt.

    NOTE:  After this procedure, remove wood chips that may be stuck to the exhaust camshaft.

    2. Remove CMP pulse plate B.
  18. Exhaust Rocker Arm - Remove
  19. Hydraulic Tappet - Remove
  20. Intake Rocker Arm Assembly - Remove
  21. Lost Motion - Remove
