DTC P272C : Park Pawl Motor Control Circuit
General Description
The park pawl actuator driver unit controls the park pawl actuator to switch to and unlock the P position. The park pawl actuator driver unit uses three lines (MAU/P-ACT_MTR_U, MAV/P-ACT_MTR_V, and MAW/P-ACT_MTR_W) to monitor the voltage applied to the park pawl actuator. If the voltage applied to the park pawl actuator is a specified value or more for a set time when the initial learning is performed, the powertrain control module (PCM) receives a malfunction from the park pawl actuator driver unit and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
The park pawl actuator input voltage is 4.22 V or more for at least 64 milliseconds.
Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- Park pawl actuator driver unit GND line open
- Park pawl actuator driver unit MAU/P-ACT_MTR_U line short to power
- Park pawl actuator driver unit MAV/P-ACT_MTR_V line short to power
- Park pawl actuator driver unit MAW/P-ACT_MTR_W line short to power
- Park pawl actuator driver unit internal circuit failure

Operating Condition
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait at least 10 seconds.

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the shift position indicator blinks and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the PCM memory. The MIL does not come on.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The shift position indicator comes off by turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
