At the condition the vehicle is in OFF (LOCK) mode, the SBW shifter control module in the SBW shifter assembly turns the MTR_CUT2(IG1) output to ON (12 V) when the key release switch is pressed once. The SBW shifter control module monitors the return signal of the MTR_CUT2(IG1) output, and when the return signal and MTR_CUT2(IG1) output does match for a specified duration, the powertrain control module (PCM) receives malfunction from the SBW shifter control module and stores a DTC.
